The MOON Food Cooperative was formed to increase the availability of locally grown food for Oxford, OH. The group decided that opening a cooperative retail storefront would give local farmers a dependable market for their goods, decrease the environmental costs of transporting food long distances, contribute to a reliable local food system and increase the availability of fresh, local food for our residents. As soon as we gain a critical mass of members and raise the necessary cash to qualify for a bank loan, we'll be able to open our cooperatively owned natural foods store.
